Your teacher turns his back from the board that he has been scribbling on for the past hour and a half. "Class dismissed. Enjoy your vacation!" You never thought this day would come! It is time for spring break! I know all of you have been in this exact situation and can identify with the excitement of no more school and the upcoming spring break trip you and your friends have been planning for months. Pack your bathing suit and sunscreen, because it's time for
Spring Break Cancun! For all of you out there looking to plan a little in advance, here are my top 5 reasons to visit Mexico on your next spring break vacation.
#5. The weather is crazy good.
The average temperature in Mexico during the prime spring break times is next to perfect. At 84 degrees F on average, you cannot really ask for anything better. Make sure you pack enough sun screen, because you do not want to fry in this heat. If I can give you one tip, do not go light on the sunscreen to try and be the tannest person on the beach. All this will get you is spending the rest of your vacation in your hotel room watching Spanish soap operas because you are too burned to see the sunlight. There is nothing more relaxing than feeling the warm Mexican sun with a cool drink in hand. If you see a cloud let me know, because I'm not sure they exist in Mexico.
#4. Who doesn't like Mexican food.
One of the best parts of spring break Mexico, in my opinion at least, is the authentic Mexican cuisine that is available for every meal. For those of you who are not as excited about this perk, there are plenty of places to get "food from home." That's not me though. What tastes better than a margarita with some chips and salsa? I can also promise that their breakfast burritos will blow McDonalds out of the water. Good authentic Mexican food is one of many benefits of taking a spring break trip to Mexico.
#3. You can barter for anything you want to buy!
For all the women out there who love to shop, this one is for you. Back home, prices are fixed and everyone just accepts it. However, in Mexico, it is common practice to barter for the goods you would like to purchase. If the item is selling for $20, ask for $15. More often than not you will be able to buy what you want for a lower price.
#2. The chicks are HOT!
I know you could say this for any spring break destination, but it is definitely true for Mexico. The white sand beaches and beautiful blue ocean water seems to bring out the best in women. Walk down the beach and I promise you that you will need more than both your hands and feet to count the attractive women that you see. Plus, one or both hands will be occupied by an alcoholic beverage so that plan is totally out the window. If the beach is not enough, wait until the sun sets and the nightlife begins. Prepare yourself for women overload as you enter some of the hottest bars and clubs that Mexico has to offer. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
#1. Leave your fake ID at home.... The drinking age is 18!!!!!!
For all you students out there that haven't quite reached the legal age limit yet (or at least your real license proves you haven't) you are in luck. As long as you are 18 or older, feel free to drink responsibly. (Ha ha..... I had to say that for legal purposes).
