Chillin' at the Holiday InnThursday Mar 04, 2010
I don’t feel like thinking much today so I’m going to blog about our hotel. It’s really nice. At first, when we booked our spring break Panama City Beach trip, I assumed that the hotel looked its best on the outside and not the inside, i.e. the rooms. I was pleasantly surprised.
We are staying at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. There are a lot of spring breakers here as well. We’re on the 12th floor with an ocean view. Looking out over the Gulf is awesome. We also have a great view of the beach below. They don’t have a pool though, but they DO have a lagoon. It looks awesome at night, too, when it’s all lit up. There are even waterfalls and plants like an island.
The rooms aren’t that bad either. I wasn’t expecting the floors to be tiled. Come to find out it’s for the sand, it’s easier to clean sand off of tile than it is carpet. It’s still nice nonetheless. Our room has a small kitchen unit as well so we can buy food and eat in the room. It’s a good way to save money for going out at night. It’s just down the road, too, from Hooters. It’s the only Hooter’s on the beach in the world, FYI. OH, it’s not far from everything either. You can walk down the road in either direction and find a store, restaurant, or mini-golf. Panama City is also the home of the world’s first mini-golf course. It isn’t open right now, and it looks like it shouldn’t be. The giant brontosaurus on the course looks like it has seen quite a few spring breaks.
