My first spring break in Cancun

Thursday Feb 18, 2010

I know this is totally lame but I need some advice from fellow Spring Breakers. I’m going to Cancun at the end of March. It should be the best Spring break of my life right…but I’m going with my grandparents. I’m a freshman in college and instead of going with all my friends to Florida, my mom forced me to take a quiet spring break with good old gram and gramps. I can chill with them during the days, that’s no problem but what I really want is to explore the night life.

I did some research online and talked to some friends who have been to Spring Break Cancun before, and I found a few cool bars to go to. I of course want to go to the Hard Rock Café, because it’s one of my goals in life to get to as many Hard Rocks as possible!!! I hear Senior Frogs has really big fun drinks, and I’ve always wanted a souvenir from there. Those are two spots that are solid in my mind, but now I want to know if anyone has suggestions on local joints. Nothing sketchy, just a few fun places to go where a lot of other college kids are. I mean chain restaurants/bars are cool, but I want something authentic!!!

We are staying at some hotel called the RIU and I assume there are other hotels and things nearby. Does anyone have any suggestions? Don’t get me wrong my grandparents are my favs, but on Spring Break Cancun I want to get tan and have fun. So holler at me if you have suggestions to any of my questions/concerns.

Majority of the nightclubs are within walking distance of eachother, so you won't have trouble figuring out where to go. The city bus is what everyone takes from their hotel to the party area...after that its pretty much up to you if you want to go to one of the big clubs, which is $60 cover with open bar. Some of the smaller bars will have selected open bar from $15-$25. The bigger clubs tend to bring down music artists on certain nights for a performance. Last year I had a chance to see Snoop Dogg in concert. Just make some friends at your hotel and try to roll with them!
